A CBC News team led by Dave Seglins that conducted an investigation into chronic fatigue among railway engineers has won a $1,000 award sponsored by CWA Canada.
The Canadian Association of Journalists (CAJ) announced the winners of its annual awards for outstanding investigative journalism at a gala and conference banquet in Halifax on Saturday evening.
Rail fatigue in Canada — A silent peril, produced for CBC’s World Report and The Current, was among five finalists for the 2014 CWA Canada / CAJ Labour Reporting Award. Sharing credit with Seglins are John Nicol, Gord Westmacott, Heather Evans, Carla Turner and Jeremy McDonald — all of whom are members of the Canadian Media Guild (CMG), CWA Canada’s largest Local.
