Canadian reporter who survives Afghan attack to leave the war-torn country

Members of the Canadian Media Guild were horrified to learn that two Ottawa-based colleagues were injured Wednesday by a bomb blast in Afghanistan. The two, videographer Charles Dubois and reporter Patrice Roy, were covering the deployment of the Royal 22nd Regiment (Van Doos) in Afghanistan for Radio-Canada television.

“Our thoughts are with Charles and Patrice and their families,” says Marc-Philippe Laurin, president of the CBC Branch of the Guild. “They can count on the love and support of their colleagues as they recover from this very unfortunate incident.”
